What we collect, and why
When you write to us
Our contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. We use this only to answer you and to arrange a stay. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and, where a booking follows, the performance of that agreement.
When you browse the site
With your consent we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. This tells us whether the site works and which information guests look for. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell data. If you decline analytics in the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are placed and no analytics data is sent.
Technical data
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the time of each request, for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
Every cookie this site uses, what it does and how long it lasts, is listed in our Cookie Policy. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings link on the site.
Who else sees your data
- Google Ireland Limited — website analytics, only if you consent.
- Hostinger — hosting of this website and its database.
- Our email provider — messages you send us through the contact form.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
If you book through Booking.com or Airbnb, those platforms are separate controllers of the data you give them, and their own privacy policies apply.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and booking correspondence: up to three years after your last message, so that we can answer follow-up questions and meet our accounting obligations. Analytics data is kept by Google for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account; we do not keep a separate copy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Write to reservations@el-chacha.com and we will answer within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifissias 1-3, 11523 Athens, Greece — www.dpa.gr.
